World Series of Parker · Event 2-2

Eric Denny Finished Last in the 2017 Razz Event. He Won This One.

Four of the six eliminations were his, and nobody went out inside three hours.

Friday, April 23, 2021 Razz 7 players $180 prize pool 2 paid

The last time this series played Razz, in August 2017, Eric Denny finished eighth of eight. On Friday he won it — rebought early, made four of the six eliminations, and took $108.

Andrew Shier made the other three that were not Eric's, finished second for $72, and has now cashed for the first time in six WSOP events. He was seventh in that 2017 Razz tournament.

The night was a slow one. Seven players, one rebuy, and nobody went out before the two-hour-fifty mark — the man who finished last lasted longer than five of the eight players managed in February.

The undercard

Jeff Ferguson bubbled in third without a knockout, the same finish he took in the 2017 Razz event. Lance Cain, who won in February, came fourth, and Angela Cain fifth.

Charlie Drotar was the first player out, after two hours and fifty-four minutes.

The bigger picture

Two events, two winners, and the season table is tight: Lance Cain leads on 76.00 from Eric Denny on 64.00 and Andrew Shier on 56.67. Three of the five events remain, and the games get stranger from here — June is Big O.

Eric now has two WSOP wins, one more than anyone else, from two different games three and a half years apart.
