One Game All Series This Time — and Eric Denny Wins the First of Them
A $40 buy-in, five nights of Omaha Hi/Lo, and five knockouts out of six.
The World Series of Parker has always been a tour of games nobody plays on a Friday — Razz, Stud, H.O.R.S.E., Big O. This season it is one game, five times: Omaha Hi/Lo from January to October. The buy-in has gone up too, from $25 to $40.
Eric Denny won the opener with five of the six eliminations and took $160 from a $270 pool. He has now won four WSOP events, twice as many as anybody else, and two of the four have been Omaha.
Andrew Shier was second for $110 without making a knockout all night.

The undercard
Rick Mazza made two knockouts and bubbled in third. Charlie Drotar rebought and came fourth.
Justin Vaughn and Steve Sarbaugh played their first WSOP events, finishing fifth and sixth.
The bigger picture
Sticking to one game changes what the series is. The first two seasons rewarded whoever happened to know Razz or Stud on the night; a five-event run at a single game rewards getting better at it, and everybody now has four more chances to do that.
The WSOP Champion trophy goes to whoever leads the table in October. Eric Denny, who won it in 2017-18 and finished second last year, starts on 35.00.
