In 2023, Angela Cain finished third in the Eight Deuce Player of the Year race — ahead of two league champions, a Tournament of Champions winner and most of the field. Over a full season of Friday nights, only two players in the room scored more points than she did.

That season was the peak of a career built on consistency rather than knockout blows. She took third at #21 in January for $205, third again at #23 in March with four knockouts, and third at #30 in October — three podium finishes in a single year, plus a fourth at #28 in August.

The World Series of Parker has given her the closest calls. She was runner-up at WSOP 2-3 in June 2021 and again at WSOP 3-3 in May 2023, and has taken third and fourth in others. Nine starts in that series, two second-place finishes; she has been one hand from a WSOP title twice.

Across 76 events she has 13 cashes and $2,005 in career prize money, with a biggest single payday of $205. She has cashed at the Annual twice, in 2022 and 2025, finishing fourth both times.

The win has not come yet. But the record shows a player who is in the money on nights the field is deep, and who spent 2023 outscoring almost everybody. Eight years in, and she is still one of the hardest players in this league to knock out of a race.
