Eight Deuce · Tournament #37
Eric Denny Takes Out Half the Field and Wins in July, Again
He has now won three July tournaments — and Justin Vaughn has now lost three finals in a row.
Eric Denny knocked out five of the ten who went out on Friday — second, third, fourth, fifth and eighth — and won $245 in three hours and thirty-five minutes. It is his fourth Eight Deuce win and the eighteenth of his career, and the third of the four has come in July.
Justin Vaughn was second for $175 after fifteen minutes heads-up. That is a fourth consecutive final for him: he won in April and has been runner-up in May, June and July.
Warren Mervin took third and $115 without a knockout, and Angela Cain was fourth for $85, her first cash since last October.

Paul Coffman was the first player out for the second tournament running and the third time in four.

Ten players and one rebuy again, and $620 again — the second month in a row with the same field, the same rebuy count and the same pool. The league saw the same thing in the summer of 2022, when two ten-man fields came back to back.
Seven tournaments, six winners. Lee Ugarte leads on 261.99 with three tournaments to play, twenty-nine ahead of Justin Vaughn.
