Canterberry Poker League · Tournament #45
Eighteen Months, and Ninety-Eight Seconds
Eric Denny took out six of the thirteen and needed barely a minute and a half to finish it.
Eric Denny had not won a league tournament since April 2011. He ended that with six knockouts from a fourteen-man field, four hours and four minutes in the chair, and a heads-up match that lasted one minute and thirty-eight seconds. It pays $135.
It is his sixth Canterberry Poker League win, which draws him level with Warren Mervin at the top of the list, and it comes after a season opening of tenth, eleventh, seventh and tenth.
Dawn Buzbee was second for $70 without a knockout all night. Steve McLean took third and $45, and Duane Barone completed the money in fourth for $30 with four knockouts — the most by anybody other than the winner, and a second money finish in a row.

The undercard
David Doole bubbled in fifth. Scott Dishong, second last month, went out twelfth. Rick Mickaliger was the first player out after two and a half hours — on a four-hour night, not much of a head start on anybody.
The bigger picture
Five tournaments, five different winners, and the top of the table has barely separated: Doole on 56 points, Warren Mervin on 53, Eric on 48.
Five nights left, and five men are inside seventeen points of the lead.
