Canterberry Poker League · Tournament #55
Josh Reel Joins the Leaders
A thirty-seven-minute heads-up match for his sixth win, which is as many as anybody has.
Josh Reel and David Doole arrived at heads-up with four knockouts apiece and spent thirty-seven minutes settling it — the third-longest finish in the league’s history, and the second this season to run past half an hour. Josh won it for $105.
It is his sixth Canterberry Poker League win, which draws him level with Eric Denny and Warren Mervin at the top of the all-time list.
Doole took $55 for second, and he had done as much damage as the winner: four knockouts, including the fifth, sixth, eighth and ninth-place finishers. Charlie Drotar was third for $35 without making a knockout at all, and Lee Ugarte completed the money in fourth for $25 — his first cash of the season at the fourth attempt.

The undercard
Lori Mazza bubbled in fifth. She has cashed three times and bubbled once in the five tournaments of this season, and sits second in the league. Kelly Kruegel was sixth in her first appearance of the season. Eric Denny went out first after an hour, sent there by the eventual winner.
The bigger picture
Five tournaments, five different winners. The 2013-14 season has not yet had anybody win twice, and neither of the last two seasons managed a repeat before November either.
The top of the table has barely moved and is very close: Rick Mazza on 56, Lori Mazza on 54, Dawn Bjork on 51. All three have played all five.
