Canterberry Poker League · Tournament #95
Greg Howell’s Third, and Duane Barone Owns Both Fastest Exits
Out after twenty-three minutes, six months after going out in nineteen. Nobody else has ever gone in under half an hour.
Greg Howell won his third Canterberry Poker League tournament with four knockouts — four hours and thirteen minutes, $100, eleven months after his second. Four times now he has made four knockouts or more in a night: three of them are his three wins, and the fourth was a runner-up finish last September. Every other night of his league career has produced two or fewer.
Erik Treiber matched him knockout for knockout and lost the nine-minute heads-up match, taking $75 for second. It is his fourteenth cash in thirty-one league tournaments; the one win among them was in March 2013, fifty-five months ago.
Andrew Shier was third for $50 with two knockouts — twenty-six tournaments now, five cashes, no wins — and Brig Coupe completed the money in fourth for $35.

The undercard
Duane Barone was the first player out after twenty-three minutes and thirty-five seconds. In April he went out after nineteen minutes and twelve seconds, which is still the quickest anybody has left a table here — and these are now the two fastest exits in ninety-five tournaments, both his. Nobody else has ever gone in under half an hour.
Warren Mervin bubbled in fifth, four weeks after winning his eleventh. Erik Treiber put out the last two finishers on his way to the final two, including Duane.
The bigger picture
Five tournaments, five different winners, and none of them has won twice.
Eric Denny leads on 68 points from five starts, seven ahead of Paul Coffman. Every man in the top four has played all five, so the five-score cards are full and from here the season is about replacing bad nights.
| League standings — after #95 | Points | |

| 1 | Eric Denny | 68 |
| 2 | Paul Coffman | 61 |
| 3 | Warren Mervin | 59 |
