Six Hours of Stud, and Eric Denny Wins Back to Back

Six hours at the table — and Jeff Ferguson matched the winner knockout for knockout.

Nine players sat down for 7 Card Stud and the last two were still there six hours and three minutes later — longer than any World Series of Parker event bar the 2018 heads-up tournament, which beat it by eleven minutes. Eric Denny won it for $200.

He and Jeff Ferguson made four knockouts each, eight of the ten between them, and then played out the finish. Jeff took $120 for second — his second runner-up finish in nine WSOP events, seven years after the first, and he has still never won one.

Andrew Shier was third for $80 without a knockout. He won the 2021 Stud event, and this is the second time he has cashed in the game.

Charlie Drotar bubbled in fourth. Warren Mervin played his first WSOP event in seven years and finished fifth with a knockout.

David Doole rebought and played his first WSOP event, going seventh. Lee Ugarte was the first player out — after three hours and thirty-eight minutes, which on most nights would be a respectable finish.

The bigger picture

Two events, one winner, and it is the same winner as last time and the time before that. Eric Denny has now won four consecutive World Series of Parker events going back to July 2023, and leads the table on 84.00 — nearly double Lance Cain's 45.56.

Three remain, and the next is the heads-up tournament in June — a bracket rather than a table, and worth the same points as any other event.
