Canterberry Poker League · Tournament #34
Doole Wins at the Sixteenth Attempt
The two men at the top of the standings met heads-up, and it took them two minutes to settle it.
First and second in the standings arrived at the final two together, and then it was over almost at once. David Doole needed two minutes and seven seconds heads-up to beat Charlie Drotar, after four hours and sixteen minutes of everything before it. It pays $141, and it is his first Canterberry Poker League win in sixteen tournaments.
He has been second, fourth and now first this season without ever having won one before.
Charlie takes $79, a month after his own first win. Erik Treiber played his first league tournament and finished third for $47 with three knockouts. Steve McLean was fourth for $31 in his second appearance, and Rick Mazza completed the money in fifth for $25 — with five knockouts, more than anybody in the room and only three fewer than the entire top four managed between them.
