David Doole Wins the Second-Biggest Field This League Has Held
Twenty-three players, and Eric Denny — playing his 108th — was the first of them out.
Twenty-three players sat down, more than any tournament this league has run except the hundredth, and David Doole came through them in three hours and fifty-three minutes for $160. Five knockouts, and a seventh Canterberry Poker League win twenty-three months after his sixth.
Jeff Reichwein was second for $105, out in three and a half minutes of heads-up play. Rick Mazza took third and $70 — his fourth cash of the season, in his 101st league tournament.
Jason Dailey was fourth for $50, Dale Ellicott fifth for $30 with three knockouts, and Scott Dishong sixth for $20. The money then skipped three places and stopped at Steve McLean, who took $5 for tenth with three knockouts of his own.

The undercard
Jeff Ferguson came seventh with two knockouts, the first place outside the main payouts, a month after his third runner-up finish. Dawn Bjork was eighth, also with two.
Eric Denny was the first player out after an hour and fourteen minutes. It was his one hundred and eighth league tournament, which is more than anybody has played — seven clear of Rick Mazza.
The bigger picture
